  • General Pediatric and Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Consultant in the Children`s Hospital Ain Shams University Cairo Egypt.
  • Worked as Pediatric Consultant in the Pediatric Clinical Nutrition subspeciality domain at the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Unit, Pediatric Department, Al-Adan Hospital, Ministry of Health, Kuwait from January 2012 till August 2016. Establishing the Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Outpatient Clinic and practice as well as the inpatient ward rounds, teaching young doctors and dieticians and CME responsibilities were among the duties assigned.
  • Director of the nutritional rehabilitation unit at the Pediatrics hospital which provides services for malnourished infants and children and those with various chronic diseases needing nutritional advices.
  • Editing the pediatric clinical nutrition clinic annual reports as well as reviewing the patients’ reports.
  • On call duties as General Pediatric consultant as well as the Pediatric Clinical Nutrition consultant in the Children`s hospital, Ain Shams University.
  • Leading the nutrition rescue team for screening and early intervention of any problems in the nutritional status among hospitalized patients in the Children`s Hospital.
  • Regular rounds on the patients’ wards and attending the general pediatric as well as the specialized clinics namely the obesity multidisciplinary care clinic, breast feeding support clinic, faltering growth clinic and the ketoclinic where patients on ketogenic diet are counselled and followed up.
  • Providing clinical nutrition consultations in the various pediatrics specialty clinics as well as the PICU and NICU.
  • Teaching clinical skills whether examination or procedures to house officers and residents.
  • Periodic evaluation for the house officers and residents.
  • Supervising the residents in the Egyptian Pediatric board program and assessing their performance for the required skills.
  • Last attended PALS course was in Kuwait 2016 and awarded certificate of attendance and successfully completing the assessment test.
  • Developing and implementing protocols of management of nutritional deficits in various childhood illnesses tailored to benefit each specific case.
  • Teaching the mothers of malnourished children following up in the clinic the proper feeding habits and the risk factors for malnutrition and how to avoid.
  • Arranging parents’ education days for the various categories of patients following up in the outpatient clinics. Last one held was for the intractable epilepsy patients on ketogenic diet last March, 2018 on occasion of the purple day for epilepsy support.
Key Responsibilities as a professor:
  • Teaching basic and advanced medicine to under-graduate and graduate students.
  • Teaching basic and advanced medicine to house officers and residents.
  • Teaching basic nutrition knowledge to nurses, medical students, house officers and residents as well as mothers of the nutritionally unstable infants and children.
  • Evaluation exams for under-graduate and graduate students whether essay, MCQ, clinical or oral.
  • Supervision of over 100 master degree and MD dissertations in Pediatrics, Ain Shams University; most of which have already been discussed.
  • Juror and reviewer for over than 20 master degree dissertations in the field of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
  • Participation in the editing and revision committee of two books published by the Pediatrics Department, Ain Shams University “A Guide to Pediatric Case Taking” and “Multiple Choice Questions in Pediatrics”.
